Aluminum Extrusion
Aluminum extrusion is a manufacturing process where a heated aluminum billet is forced through a die, a shaped opening, to create a continuous profile with a consistent cross-section.
Aluminum Extrusion Process
1. Billet Preparation
A solid cylindrical block of aluminum alloy (billet) is heated to a softened state.
2. Die Selection
A steel die, with the desired cross-sectional shape, is chosen.
3. Extrusion
The heated billet is forced through the die using a hydraulic ram.
4. Profile Creation
As the aluminum passes through the die, it takes the shape of the die opening, creating a continuous profile with a consistent cross-section.
5. Cooling and Cutting
The extruded aluminum is cooled and then cut to the desired length.

6063
