Together with a 600-ton hydraulic press and several pneumatic presses, this equipment allows us to make complex chassis with much better efficiency, especially for server chassis. Sheet Metal Fabrication
Sheet metal fabrication is a process that involves shaping thin metal sheets into various products and components. It utilizes a series of techniques, including cutting, bending, and forming, to transform flat metal sheets into desired shapes and structures.
Types of Sheet Metal Fabrication
Laser Cutting Processing
We have a state-of-the-art Amada optical fiber laser machine to cut materials to the specified dimensions based on the engineering drawings.
Punching
Punching is the process of punching the material according to the die. We mainly use a machine called turret punch press (NCT). Our fiber laser and NCT combo machine has the fastest processing speed and the highest efficiency in the field.
Tapping and Burring
Tapping creates threaded holes in sheet metal. Burring forms raised collars around holes, providing greater thread engagement for screws. This processing is mainly for making the hole with threads. Our combo machine can do auto tapping at the same time.
Countersinking
Countersinking enlarges and bevels the rim of a hole. The surface looks very flush after inserting the screw, nail, or bolt.
Bending
Forming sheet metal is done by bending a sheet metal with upper and lower dies. Common methods include V-bending, L-bending, and Z-bending. We mainly use a machine called a press brake to bend.
Forming
The cut sheets are then shaped into the desired three-dimensional forms using techniques like stamping, drawing, and deep drawing.
Roll processing
This is the process of rolling a metal material into a cylinder using multiple rollers.
Welding
Welding is melting the joints of two or more members with heat and joining them together. Welding types include CO2, argon, and automatic fibre laser welding.
Assembly
Assembly methods include welding, fastening, and riveting.
Sheet Metal Materials
Steel:

SPCC: A type of cold-rolled steel sheet without zinc plating

SECC: It is an electro-galvanized cold-rolled steel sheet. The average plating film thickness is approximately 2 to 25 µm.

SGCC: Hot-dip galvanized cold-rolled steel sheet. The average plating film thickness is about 50-100 µm.

SPHC: Also called pickled steel sheet, it removes the oxide film adhering to the surface of hot-rolled steel sheet.
Stainless Steel:

SUS304 is the most common of the three grades. It offers good corrosion resistance while maintaining formability and weldability.

SUS316 possesses more corrosion resistance and strength at elevated temperatures than 304. It is commonly used for pumps, valves, chemical equipment, and marine applications.

SUS430 is a popular grade, and a low-cost alternative to 300-series grades. This is used when high corrosion resistance is not a primary criterion.
Aluminum:

AL1050 is a commercially pure aluminum alloy, known for its high electrical and thermal conductivity, excellent corrosion resistance, and good formability.

AL5052-H32 is much stronger while still maintaining good formability. It maintains high corrosion resistance and weldability. Common applications include electronic chassis, tanks, and pressure vessels.

AL6061-T6 is a common heat-treated structural aluminum alloy. It is weldable, corrosion resistant, and stronger than 5052, but not as formable. It loses some of its strength when welded. It is used in modern aircraft structures.
Copper, Brass & Bronze:

Copper is a soft, reddish metal with excellent electrical conductivity.

Brass is an alloy of copper, which is widely used as a sheet metal. It has more strength, corrosion resistance and formability when compared to copper while retaining its conductivity.

Bronze is typically an alloy of copper and tin. It's favored for its durability, resistance to corrosion and wear, and pleasing aesthetic qualities, particularly when polished or finished with a satin texture.
Tinplate:

Tinplate is a thin sheet of steel that is coated with a layer of tin. This coating provides corrosion resistance, making it suitable for various applications like food and beverage packaging. Tinplate is known for its malleability, solderability, and weldability, commonly used for shielding boxes that block electromagnetic interference in the electronics industry.
